Jack & Jill

Here is a sample of the illustrated Jack & Jill nursery rhyme.

Jack & Jill went up a hill

to fetch a pail of water.

Jack fell down,

broke his crown,

and Jill came tumbling after.
Today, we are working on our illustrations for each scene from the Jataka tales.

Answers to Your Questions

Hey guys!!!
SO to answer some of your questions....
Buddha used to be a prince (he is a boy....) in Northern India but he wanted to help people so he formed the religion of Buddhism. In Buddhism, there is no God because Buddhists believe that everyone has goodness and kindness inside of them, which is just like the goodness and kindness in other religions' gods. Buddhists chant, which is a lot like singing. Click here to hear Buddist chants
This shows where Buddha and his followers traveled
Today we practiced our story telling and we have some really cool pictures and stories to show you.
This is a picture drawn by a student in this class named Morgan.

The elephant picture is a sneak peek to one of the stories about an elephant named Ellie

We will answer the rest of your questions when we come to visit you!

Hi! We are in Mrs. Armstrong's fourth grade class, at Peter Woodbury. There are 22 students in our class. We recently did an ancestry project and learned about different country's beliefs and customs.  This week, we have been working on magnets and electricity, but we are looking forward to seeing your project! Buddhism sounds like a very interesting subject to learn about.

Here are some of our wonderings:
Who is Buddha?
What is Buddhism?
Is Buddha a boy or a girl?
Has Buddhism affected your life?
When did Buddha live?
Where did this belief begin?
Where is Buddha from?
Did they sing songs?
Did they pray to more than one God?
Does Buddhism have any celebrations or holidays?

Welcome!

Hi we would like to introduce you to Bedford High School's World Religion's class. In this class we learn about what people all over the world believe with our teacher, Mr. Pepper. We started off the year learning about a really cool man named Buddha, who started Buddhism. Today we are working on telling and drawing some of the stories from this religion. We can't wait to show you our work when we come to visit you.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Your friends at BHS
